What is CEREC?

CEREC is a revolutionary technology that enables us to create high-quality restorations in our office without the need for dental lab impressions. Utilizing a scanning technology, we will scan the tooth that requires an inlay, onlay, bridge or crown and create the restoration right in our office. You can go home the same day as the restoration being created without the need for additional appointments and visits. CEREC is a wonderful option for patients wanting quick, easy and durable dental restoration appliances.

Why do you need CEREC?

You may be interested in CEREC because it provides you with a quick way to receive a high-quality dental restoration, like a crown or bridge, without the need for multiple trips. In order to be considered for the CEREC technology, you’ll need an exam prior to having it done. Some of the benefits to having CEREC restorations made include:

  • Quick digital impressions of teeth (no messy impression material)
  • Quick, precise restorations done in-office
  • Go home with your permanent crown, bridge, inlay or onlay in the same day

What makes you a good candidate for CEREC?

CEREC is ideal for most patients who feel this technology will benefit them. Digital impressions are made of the tooth and a high-quality and durable restoration is made while you sit there and wait. The technology produces a quality piece that will last for years. It is a great option for patients not wanting to make multiple trips for a crown or bridge.

What happens during the procedure for CEREC?

During the CEREC procedure, your tooth will be scanned with the technology to provide us with a digital impression. We then use a specialized machine that creates the restoration for you using this digital impression. Once created, the restoration is filed and buffed before being placed. We will then place the restoration using permanent dental cement. The restoration is further filed down into place to provide a comfortable fit. Your new restoration should last for many years with proper care.
